Mature neighborhoods and big trees
Much of eastern and central Plantation was built out decades ago, with one-story ranch homes, wide lots and a mature tree canopy. Those trees are part of what people love about the city, and they shape outdoor projects: roots limit where footings and slabs can go, and shade changes what grows and how fast a deck dries after rain. We plan around them instead of through them.
Older homes also bring older systems. Before adding an outdoor kitchen or an ADU, we check the electrical service, the gas line route and the existing drainage, so the new work doesn't overload what is already there.
Plantation Acres
In the west, Plantation Acres has larger lots, a rural feel and many equestrian properties. That space makes a detached guest house, pool house or ADU more realistic than on a typical suburban lot, though zoning still decides what is allowed and how it can be used. Some properties are on septic, which limits where a new building can sit.
Pergolas and outdoor kitchens
With wide backyards, Plantation projects are often bigger: a pergola connecting the house to the pool, a full outdoor kitchen under a solid roof, a pool deck replaced in travertine or pavers. Like the rest of Broward County, Plantation is in the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone, so roofs and pergolas are engineered and permitted.
